Silesia Mountains – sources of the Vistula River – 3 days
Route: Pszczyna – Bielsko Biala – Wisla – Koniakow – Istebna – Zywiec
Day 1
Arrival at Katowice airport. Drive to Pszczyna: Charming old market, tour of the Castle Museum, outdoor village museum and farm of wisent – polish bisons. Then, short visit to Bielsko – Biala – Museum in the Sulkowski Castle, old market, town hall. Overnight stay.
Day 2
breakfast. Drive to Wisla, a trek along the tourist trail to Barania Gora. Barania Gora is a mountain in southern Poland. With 1,220 metres it is the second highest mountain of Silesian Beskids and the highest one in the Polish part of Upper Silesia. It is a popular tourist spot with good landscape viewing opportunities. Sources of the Vistula, the longest Polish river, are located on the western slope of the mountain.
Day 3
breakfast. Koniakow – famous lace in Maria Gwarkowa house, Istebna – Regional Chamber in the Kawulok’s House, Wisla – Hunting castle of the Habsburgs built in an alpine style. Zywiec – The city is known from the Zywiec brewery which is in operation, continuously since the XIXth century. We will visit both the museum and the production line. The program also has beer tasting. Afterwards, a short walk through Zywiec: Castle and Park, the Church of St. Cross, and the town square with the Neo-Renaissance town hall.
