Hanseatic Trail: Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot – 2 days
Day 1
our city break starts in Gdansk, with a stroll around the Town Square – where we can see the Golden Gate, Main Town Hall, the Fountain of Neptune – one of the Gdańsk’s biggest landmarks, Długa Street, the famous Artus Court Hall built in 1481 as a meeting place for wealthy burghers, treadwheel wooden crane called “Żuraw” – another symbol of the city. Next, we see the biggest brick building in Europe – the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, founded in 1342, large enough for 25000 faithful, with beautiful gothic sculptures and monumental Memling’s. After a short break, we take a look into the place where the “Solidarity” movement was founded – the Gdańsk Shipyard. Overnight stay.
Day 2
breakfast. Today we visit Gdynia and Sopot – two other cities that form the Tricity. In Gdynia, we can see two ships – Dar Pomorza and ORP Błyskawica, and after that, we visit the harbor of Gdynia. Finally, we visit Sopot – one of the most famous SPA resortd in Poland. A short walk through the popular (among tourists) street – Bohaterow Monte Cassino, with the longest in Poland wooden pier at the end of that street.
