Route: Munich – Pilsen – Praque – Brno – Zywiec – Katowice – Wroclaw

 

Day 1

Arrival Germany, to Munich – the main city of Bavaria, famous for the Oktoberfest – the biggest beer event in Europe and the World. Meeting with your local guide. All day sightseeing of Munich. Visiting the Church of St. Peter – one of the most beautiful churches and well-known as one of the main landmarks of Munich. A stroll around the English Garden – one of the largest urban parks in Central Europe. During the day you will see the Residence in the city centre of Munich, former residence of Bavarian aristocracy and emperors. In the afternoon free time for leisure, shopping or walk around the city on your own. Overnight stay in Munich.

Day 2:

breakfast, checking-out. Departure from Munich towards to border with Czech Republic to Pilsen – the fourth largest city. In the historic centre of Pilsen there is Brewery of Pilsner Urquell making beer from Middle Ages to present day. Visiting with your local guide the Museum and production line. Afterwards visiting the Pilsen Historical Underground – a labyrinth of passageways, cellars and wells from the 14th-century. Next in the program are: the market, The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew – National Cultural Heritage of Czech Republic, and the Great Synagogue being one of the largest synagogue in Europe. Transfer to Prague – the capital, cultural and political centre of Czech Republic. Overnight stay.

Day 3:

breakfast. All day sightseeing tour of Prague with local guide: the Old Town Square with City Hall and famous Orloj clock, the Charles Bridge and St. Charles Church. Afterwards the Royal Castle in Hradcany – the former residence of kings in Czech Republic. The tour “Prague Castle – Circuit B” around Hradcany included: the Royal Castle, the cathedral of St. Vitus – one of the Praque’s symbols, the Old Royal Palace, Romanesque St. George Basilica, street of the Golden Lane with Daliborka Tower as former prison. Next visiting the Mala Strana district and free time for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay in hotel in Praque.

Day 4:

breakfast. Departure from Prague to Brno – the capital of Moravian region. Since 1234 Brno has been related to brewing. The city break of Brno. In program of the day visiting: the Old Town, which has 2 marketplace – Zelny Trh i Namestí Svobody, Spilberk Castle – the City Museum in former royal residence and the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul located in the centre of Brno. Overnight stay in hotel in Brno.

Day 5:

breakfast. Travel to Zywiec in Poland. Zywiec – the city is known from the Zywiec brewery which is in operation, continuously since the XIXth century. We will visit both the museum and the production line of Zywiec Brewery. The program also has beer tasting. Afterwards, a short walk through Zywiec: Castle and Park, the Church of St. Cross, and the town square with the Neo-Renaissance town hall. Next, transfer to Katowice, accommodation and overnight stay in the capital of Silesia region.

Day 6:

breakfast. The city break of Katowice with local guide – the heart of Upper Silesia. Walk through the city centre: Mickiewicza Street, Stawowa Street, 3-go Maja Street, Młyńska Street – with numerous historic buildings. Afterwards, we will visit Nikiszowiec – a unique settlement built for miners, Wilson Shaft Gallery and Giszowiec – colony of the “Giesche” and „garden town”. Afterwards, transfer to Wroclaw – capital city of the Lower Silesia region, situated on the Odra river with many canals. Overnight stay in Wroclaw.

Day 7:

breakfast. All day sightseeing of Wroclaw. Our city break starts with a stroll around the Old Town with the magnificent gothic Town Hall erected in  the 13th century and many picturesque renaissance and baroque tenement houses. The Old Town in general is one of the main landmarks of the city. Visiting the University with famous room – Aula Leopoldina. Next, we will see the Panorama Raclawicka which is a huge (120 x 15m) painting from the late 19th century. It presents view of the battlefield of Raclawice (1794) – one of the most important battles in Polish history. After that, we take a walk to the Ostrow Tumski – the oldest part of the city with many churches and above all, with the beautiful St. John the Baptist Cathedral from 1241 – it’s the first entirely gothic monument in Poland. Overnight stay.

Day 8:

breakfast. Continuation of discovering Wroclaw. We start the day from visiting the Centennial Hall, included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. It is a superb example of reinforced concrete architecture. After that, we take a close look into the Japanese Garden and Multimedia Fountain, which lies next to the Centennial Hall. Finally, we visit Wroclaw Zoo – the most famous zoo in Poland, with newly built Africarium. In the afternoon free time for shopping or stroll around the city on your own. Overnight stay in Wroclaw.

 

Day 9:

After breakfast departure from Wroclaw to your country on your own. The end of the Trail of Amber Brew.
