Route: Wroclaw – Muskau Park – Jawor – Kalwaria Zebrzydowska – Oswiecim – Auschwitz-Birkenau – Krakow – Wieliczka Salt Mine – Debno Podhalanskie – Brunary Wyzne – Zamosc – Kazimierz Dolny – Warszawa – Białowieza National Park – Torun – Malbork

 

Day 1

arrival to Wroclaw. Meeting with local guide. Our trip starts with the stroll around the Old Town with the magnificent, gothic Town Hall erected in 13th century and many picturesque renaissance and baroque tenement houses. The Old Town in general is one of the main landmarks of the city. After that, we take a walk to the Ostrow Tumski – the oldest part of the city with many churches and above all, with the beautiful Cathedral of St. John the Baptist from 1241 – it’s the first totally gothic monument in Poland. Overnight stay in Wroclaw.

Day 2:

breakfast. We start the day from excursion to Park Muskau located on the Polish-German border between the German town Bad Muskau and the Polish town Leknica. During a stroll around the park we will see beautiful gardens and castle. Afterwards transfer to Jawor. We will visit one of the Protestants Churches of Peace listed on UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Those churches was built after the political and cultural war in 17th century. Building has original decoration. Drive back to Wroclaw. Overnight stay.

Day 3:

breakfast. Visiting the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. It is a superb example of reinforced concrete architecture. After that, we take a close look into the Japanese Garden and Multimedia Fountain, which lies next to the Centennial Hall. Departure from Wroclaw and travel to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. Visiting the Sanctuary of the Passion and of the Madonna – the Bernardine complex being one of the most important pilgrimage places in Poland. Transfer to Oswiecim. Overnight stay.

Day 4:

breakfast. We start the day with an excursion to the Auschwitz – Birkenau Museum with local guide. This former German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp, although not very easy on the eye, it is a must-see in Poland. Placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979, it was the largest of all the Nazi death camps. We can see prison blocks, the remains of the gas chambers, and the crematorium in Auschwitz. The visit continues after a short break and the visitors can go up to the watch tower in Birkenau part to see the panorama of the camp. Transfer to Krakow – the second largest city in Poland, the capital of Malopolska region. In the history Krakow was the capital of Poland. The city break starts with meeting your local guide and then stroll around the Market Square – one of the biggest in Europe, with the famous Cloth Hall (13th century) and Saint Mary’s Church with the Wit Stwosz beautiful gothic altar inside. Overnight stay in Krakow.

Day 5:

breakfast. Transfer to Wieliczka Salt Mine. – another place which is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List since 1978. Located 15 km from Cracow, Wieliczka is mainly famous from having one of the oldest active salt mines in Europe. It’s been operating since the 13th century until now! The uderground includes decorated salt chambers, carvings, statues and the Chapel of St. Kinga which needed over 30 years to be completed and over 20000 tons of rock salt had to be removed. Drive back to Krakow. Overnight stay.

Day 6:

breakfast. Departure from Krakow to Zamosc. On the way stop at St. Michael Archangel’s Church in Debno Podhalanskie – one of the wooden churches in Malopolska region listen on UNESCO built several centuries ago. Later visiting the wooden orthodox tserkva of St. Michael the Archangel in Brunary Wyzne. Transfer to Zamosc. Overnight stay.

Day 7:

breakfast. All day the sightseeing of Zamosc with local guide. The city is called a Pearl of the Renaissance, because of beautiful Old Town built in Renaissance style with historical architectural structure. Visiting the Old Town, the Cathedral of Lord’s Resurrection and St. Thomas The Apostle built between 16th and 17th century and the Jewish Synagogue. Afterwards we will visit the Zamoyski Palace – the former residence of Jan Zamoyski and his family, city walls: Lwowska and Lubelska Gate. Dinner, overnight stay in Zamosc.

Day 8:

after breakfast departure towards Warszawa – the capital city of Poland, the largest city, and also the political, economic, cultural centre. On the way walking tour in Kazimierz Dolny – small, charming town. Stroll around includes visiting: churches, ruins of Kazimierzowski Castle, Baszta, Hill of Three Crosses, Market Square and a short walk alongside Wisla river. Transfer to Warszawa, dinner and overnight stay.

 

 

 

Day 9:

breakfast. Our city break of Warsaw starts with meeting the local guide. Warsaw is the capital, the largest city and also the political, economic, cultural centre of Poland. During the World War II the city was totally destroyed but have been reconstructed in post-war times. In sightseeing program: the beautiful Old Town with the Castle Square and Zygmunt Column, the Old Town Square with famous statue of mermaid, the Cathedral Of St. John – one of the oldest churches in Warsaw, built in 14th-century. After that visiting the Palace of Culture and Science – the tallest building in Poland with the terrace on the 30th. Transfer to Lazienki Palace and Park. Dinner and overnight stay in Warszawa.

Day 10:

breakfast.  All day excursion to the Bialowieza National Park – valuable natural area, where live the European Bisons saved from extinction. Visiting the Show Reserve and Nature and Forest Museum. Drive back to Warszawa. Overnight stay.

Day 11:

breakfast. Departure from Warszawa to Torun – the beautiful city in Northern Poland. City is related to Nicolaus Copernicus, the great Polish astronomer from the renaissance, who was born here in 15th-century. The original medieval architecture of Torun have been listed on UNESCO World Heritage List. City break of Torun with your local guide. Visiting the Copernicus’ House – museum in building with wooden ceiling and ornamented walls showing the life of Copernicus. Next, visiting the Old Town and the Old Town Hall – one of the largest gothic building made of bricks, the Leaning Tower (from the outside) and the ruins of former Teutonic Knights Castle, the Bridge Gate (from the outside). During the stroll around Old Town we will see St. Jame’s Church and the Gothic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist (building of Cathedral and Tower). Afterwards walking tour of Filadelfijski Boulevard along the Vistula River and enjoying the beautiful view. Overnight stay in Torun.

Day 12:

breakfast. Excursion to Malbork. Visiting Malbork Castle – one of the largest castles in Europe and the most impressive Gothic castle in Poland built during the medieval times  between the 13th and 15th centuries by the Teutonic Knights. At present it is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The great example of fortified castle located on the route of Polish Gothic Castles. During the visit we will see interiors, chambers, walls and exhibition of weapons. Return to Torun, dinner and overnight.

after breakfast departure from Torun to your country.
